Data 21's ZIP/390 and ZIP/VSE continue to break the boundaries of a Multi-Purpose ZIP Utility

TORRANCE, California, June 1st, 2009 - Data 21, Inc. announces ZIP/390 and ZIP/VSE's latest product enhancements. The products facilitate high-speed secure delivery of zSeries information in industry standard compression, encryption and presentation formats (e.g., ZIP, PGP, PDF, CSV); ensuring cross-platform compatibility and exploitation of widely used platform-independent technologies.
Data 21's continual efforts to improve ZIP/390 and ZIP/VSE's expansive list of capabilities is proving successful with customer growth and satisfaction. Over the past year, their developers have implemented several enhancements to the product(s). These enhancements range from increased support for PDS Datasets, to New Support of ZIP File Updates (ADD, UPDATE, FRESHEN, DELETE) and additional support for AES File Transfers.
The improvements made to PDS Datasets include Dynamic Allocation for UNZIP and VIEW Actions, condensing job steps and user work load. For customers that use the file transfer option for delivering ZIP Files, full AES Encryption has been added to ensure optimal security to these files. On top of these improvements, customers will find new support for ZIP File Updating that include (ADD, UPDATE, FRESHEN, DELETE); allowing greater flexibility and increased access to existing archives. In addition the update includes minor updates and fixes based on customer requests. The growth of these products is attributed to the ingenuity of Data 21's development team, as well as customer requirements. They continue to welcome feedback from the mainframe community and our customers as technology advances and requirements evolve.
