z/OS
When qualifying files are detected, the corresponding Connect/JES task automatically triggers the associated Connect/MP action, enabling automated processing, transformation, and delivery of JES output.
This architecture allows organizations to extend traditional JES processing into modern automation workflows without modifying existing batch jobs.
The output of the initial Connect/JES initiated Connect/MP component can take several forms. It may produce a z/OS or USS file, be FTP’d or emailed, or be piped into a distributed application or subsequent Connect/MP component process—all under the control of a single z/OS job.
Can be run as a one-time process or remain awake to process selected reports as they are created until stopped or z/OS is shutdown.
Flexible Selection Criteria such as: JOBNAME, JOBID, CLASS, FORM, DESTINATION
DISPOSITION Control (KEEP | DELETE)
In addition to its JES Writer capabilities for automated report processing, the Connect/JES component provides a powerful batch program for direct JES report selection and processing. This interface allows administrators and automation scripts to execute JES operations as native z/OS jobs, enabling flexible and efficient control of report handling.
The batch program makes it easy to integrate JES report processing into batch workflows, operational scripts, and existing automation frameworks. Users can select, manage, and process JES output independently of other Connect/MP actions, providing a straightforward way to run targeted report operations when needed.
With this capability, Connect/JES extends the flexibility of Connect/MP by enabling native, scriptable JES processing that fits naturally into z/OS batch environments and enterprise automation strategies.
